Ingredients:
8 pcs plantain (saba), ripe
1 1/4 cup water
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup sago, cooked
crushed ice
pandan leaves
evaporated milk (optional)
Procedure:
- Peel plantains. Cut into two diagonally (or, if you're like my husband, cut into chip-like shapes for easy eating).
- Place in a casserole. Add water and sugar. Let it simmer before adding the pandan. Boil.
- Add sago. Cook for 2-3 more minutes. Let it cook before placing in the refrigerator.
- Serve with crushed ice, drizzled with evaporated milk.
- Cold or hot, it's the perfect dessert or merienda.
