8 Days Before the Wedding

OMG, this is it. I was not able to update my blog for so long because of the wedding preparations. I'll make it up to you, dear readers.

Anyway, if you're a bride-to-be and wants a hassle-free wedding, make sure you hire a wedding coordinator! My fiance and I were not able to do this because of the short preparation (2 months to be exact!) Hopefully, on my next post, I'll be able to give you a list.

A little run-down memory lane for the past couple of weeks:

January 4 - Reservation at Parish and Diocesan Shrine of Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu
Reception will follow at Patio Isabel Y Jardin (garden venue)

January 15 - The Wedding Library / Jewelry by Franco

January 16 - Alma Cuevas (Couturier)

January 22 - SpotPoint Photography / Tropical Blooms

January 29 - Prenuptial Pictorial

Whew! We had our pictorial at Green Nature Resort in Patiis Road, San Mateo. We felt like models (literally!). I didn't know that it could be THIS tiring. My facial muscles felt stiff and my back ached all afternoon! Good thing our photographers were good sports. REMINDER: It's much better to do a pictorial in the afternoon, to get more natural light.

January 30 - Pamamanhikan

This is a Filipino tradition wherein the family of the groom visits the family of the bride, bringing food and gifts (called "dowry") to officially talk about the wedding preparations. Well, since my fiance and I were already a month in the preparation, this became more of a "getting to know" the other family kind-of affair. It was fun and had lots of yummy food.

February 11 - Distribution of invitations c/o The Wedding Library

February 19 - Surprise Wedding and Baby Shower

My best friend "secretly" organized my shower at Centerstage, Tomas Morato. I was very happy even though I already knew about the event (because my fiance told me, haha). My baby and I had so many gifts.

Also, I have another good news! My OB-GYNE told me we can learn about the baby's gender on the 19th, a week after our wedding! Isn't that nice? Whether it's a boy or a girl (), I just wish that the baby will be healthy and normal and will not have any deficiency/disorder/disease. That's all that matters.

Checklist:
Reception - paid in full
Church - paid in full
Couturier - down payment, last payment on the 15th
Photographer - down payment, last payment upon receipt of pictures/video
Hair & Make-Up - down payment, last payment on the 12th
Flower Arrangement - down payment, last payment on the 12th
Cake - free (thanks Tita Mommy!)
Invitations & Souvenirs - free (thanks to my fiance's sister!)
Bridal Car - free (thanks to my Tita and Tito!)
Rings - paid in full

Whew! It's a good thing we have several sponsors! I feel so lucky. Well, there had been a few, minor set backs but it doesn't matter (actually, honestly, it felt like crap to be dealing with irritating things. In a perfect world, nothing could go wrong. But I don't live in a perfect world so I guess, I just have to deal with ***! ). I can't wait for this wedding to be done and over with!
