Hi, I'm Mymy. I decided to make this blog because I got a feeling that this year, 2011, will be an epic year and I want something to remember it by when I'm old and topic for gossip is scarce.

Everyone has their own story to tell and mine began on the day of my best friend's wedding. I knew something was up when my period got late. Although I know the news about my condition will devastate (and at some point, delight) a few people, I was surprisingly calm and at ease. I never felt so alive.

I was 26 and although not too old, I believe I have finally matured. It's about time and really, I have to because (1) I'm expecting my first child and (2) I'm getting married. It's not the kind of setup that I'd want for myself because my family still believes in being prim, proper and conservative. But what should I do? This is the current situation and really, it's not so bad. Taboo or not, this is reality and what better way to handle it than to face it, right?

People thought I'll wallow away in despair after confirming that I was, in fact pregnant; honestly, I thought the same thing. But I've realized, why should I when I have been given the best gift any woman could ask for? This is a blessing, not a curse. I was perfectly delighted. And besides, it's not like I got pregnant without a boyfriend (of six years, mind you) so why should I be frightened?

That's why instead of shying away, I decided to chronicle my experiences, beginning with the engagement that occurred on January 1st, the wedding that will happen on March 12 and hopefully will continue way after I give birth this coming July.

These are the ULTIMATE reasons why I'm making this blog --- to make a memory of the year it ALL happened. New year, new things, new life. So if you ask me what year was MY epic year, I'll tell you 2011 ---- the year I finally learned why I was born in the first place, the year it ALL happened.
